Diversity Celebration in Piaseczno – employment support and mental wellbeing
On 19 August 2026, the next Diversity Celebration meeting was held at the District Labour Office in Piaseczno as part of the RO(O)TATION project.
The meeting brought together 40 participants, including 27 long-term unemployed people and 13 representatives of employers, HR, NGOs and labour-market institutions. People on the autism spectrum also participated in the event.
The meeting was organised in a mixed format, combining individual consultations with project specialists and a group psychoeducational session. Between 10:10 and 12:00, participants could speak individually with a career counsellor, employment agent and psychotherapist, choosing freely which type of support they needed. Employers were able to consult a specialist on subsidised employment and discuss opportunities for employing long-term unemployed and neurodivergent candidates.
The second part of the meeting was a mini-lecture entitled “Emotions, Stress and Mental Health When Looking for a Job”, delivered by Renata Kierdelewicz, psychotherapist at FIIW. The session addressed emotions experienced during prolonged job searches, including rejection, uncertainty, financial pressure, frustration and self-criticism, as well as practical ways of managing stress and maintaining psychological wellbeing.
Participants also practised several self-regulation techniques, including 4–6 breathing, the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method and a three-step approach to difficult emotions: stopping, naming the emotion and identifying the underlying need. Participants also received a practical “Plan for a Difficult Day” worksheet for individual use.
An important feature of the meeting was the integration of employment and psychological support. The “one-stop” consultation format allowed participants to choose the specialist support most relevant to their individual situation. Holding the event at the labour office also helped reduce barriers to accessing psychological support by making a conversation with a psychotherapist one of several services available in the same place.
The meeting also resulted in a new contact with an employer interested in recruiting people from the project target group, including through subsidised employment.
The event was another example of the RO(O)TATION approach, bringing together employment activation, psychological support, neuro-inclusive employment and direct cooperation with employers and labour-market institutions.
