ROOTED ROOFTOP #4 – The Future of Work and Neurodiversity
On 10 June 2026, the fourth Rooted Rooftop community meeting was held in Piaseczno as part of the RO(O)TATION project. The event brought together representatives of public institutions, NGOs, employers, neurodiversity experts and project participants to exchange experiences and discuss the future of an inclusive labour market.
The main part of the meeting was an interactive panel discussion entitled “The Future of Work: Neurodiversity, Inclusion and the Changing Labour Market.” The debate explored whether today’s labour market is truly prepared to embrace neurodiversity, how artificial intelligence and technological change are reshaping employment opportunities, and what responsibilities employers, educational institutions and public authorities share in creating more inclusive workplaces.
The audience actively participated throughout the discussion, raising questions and sharing perspectives on practical solutions that can support autistic and other neurodiverse individuals in entering and remaining in employment.
A particularly valuable part of the event was the participation of representatives of the Italian project partner DIDAXE from Caserta, who presented the Italian perspective on labour market inclusion. They shared their experiences from implementing the RO(O)TATION project in Italy, discussed the main barriers faced by long-term unemployed and neurodiverse people, and presented examples of successful cooperation with employers and local communities.
Participants were also deeply inspired by the personal testimony of an Italian project beneficiary, who described how participation in the project helped rebuild confidence, motivation and readiness to return to work after a long period of exclusion.
The meeting concluded with an open Q&A session and networking, creating new opportunities for cooperation and international exchange. Rooted Rooftop #4 once again demonstrated that dialogue and partnership are essential for building a labour market that values diversity and creates equal opportunities for everyone.
